Mission
To link the efforts of the Universities of Antofagasta, La Frontera and Magallanes in research, development and innovation, seeking to share the special features of each region in southern, desert and volcanic systems, contributing to the knowledge and value creation to be given to society.
Aims
To strengthen research in extreme environments in Chile, establishing multidisciplinary scientific lines that enable understanding at different levels and on different scales.
To establish NEXER outreach programs in the extreme environments, making its members and activities visible.
To promote interactions between Network researchers and other national and international researchers.
To contribute to the education of undergraduate and graduate students through training and the support and mentoring of young researchers at the postdoctoral level.
